💡 Sterilisation can be an extra step in making food-safe materials even safer. It can be done through various means, such as heat, chemical use, irradiation, high pressure, and filtration. However, not all materials can be sterilised. Sterilisation methods include ethylene Oxide gas (EtO), hydrogen peroxide gas plasma, gamma radiation, autoclave, and flash autoclave. 📰 Read the full article on food-safe 3D printing: https://zurl.co/pvYs 🌐 Xometry offers #3Dprinting and other #manufacturing techniques for food-safe materials. 🚤 Daniel Riley of RCTestFlight reimagined the conventional propeller design. He used #FDM #3Dprinting to create propellers with alternative designs, including the much-talked-about toroidal propeller that features two blades. His experiments revealed that the 2-blade FDM-printed propeller outperformed the rest, even those professionally printed in nylon. 👀 Watch the full video: https://zurl.co/yHOC 🌐 Whether it's drones, boat props, or any other creative project, Xometry can help you manufacture it with precision and quality. 🔧 There are various methods of application and usage of cutting fluids in CNC machining, including: ➡️ CNC Milling: For best results, apply cutting fluid by flooding. ➡️ CNC Drilling: Jet application of the fluid is ideal, as lubrication isn't as critical. ➡️ CNC Turning: Considering that the workpiece rotates, the jet application of the cutting fluid is suitable. 📰 Read more on cutting fluids for #CNC #machining processes: https://zurl.co/pj15 🌐 Xometry offers premium CNC machining services online. We are glad to announce two awaited finishing option combinations, now available for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing for Nylon 12 and Nylon 11 materials: • Vapor Polishing + Dyeing: The parts’ surface is first smoothened due to the combination of a finishing agent and controlled chemical melt. Sharp edges are softened and the surface turns to semi-gloss. Following this, parts are dyed with the chosen color. • Vapor Polishing + Spray Painting: This is a perfect option for a smooth surface and painted in any color from over 200 RAL options. Parts are first treated with vaporized chemical solvents, then expertly spray painted to achieve a continuous, protective color finish. Check out these options at get.xometry.eu

📌 FDM, SLA, and SLS are top choices for creating water-resistant parts. Here are key tips for enhancing water resistance in FDM printing: 👉 Wall Thickness: Print with a layer thickness of 0.15mm for good quality and water resistance. Increase wall thickness by using a low layer height, solid infill, and high temperature. 👉 Increase Shells: More perimeters = better water resistance. Aim for 4-6 perimeters and a wall thickness of around 3mm. Always consider the perimeter limit for the material in use. 👉 Higher Printing Temperature: Higher temperatures may improve layer adhesion between layers, reducing the inter-layer gaps that may cause water leakage. 📰 Discover more tips for printing water-resistant parts: https://zurl.co/RpGP 🌐 Xometry offers #3Dprinting with various water-resistant materials.
